Franklin Templeton Supports Financial Alliance for Racial Equity at Diversity Summit and Career Event

By: 3BL Media

SOURCE: Franklin Templeton

DESCRIPTION:

As part of the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I) with the Financial Alliance for Racial Equity (FARE), Franklin Templeton’s talent acquisition team participated in the recent Diversity Summit and Virtual Career Event.

Held November 17 to 19, the Diversity Summit was presented by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc., a Washington, DC based nonprofit organization that serves the public by fostering professional standards in personal financial planning.

The event was established to align students from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) with industry employers to share and explore career opportunities. Franklin Templeton promoted the company’s open roles, talked to job candidates and showcased what it is like to work at Franklin Templeton.

The firm’s talent acquisition team engaged Catherine McCauley, Vice President, Global Business Partnering in supporting the event.

Catherine interviewed John Callender, Senior Advisor Consultant, in the first of a new video series titled “Three Questions in Three Minutes” in which participants discuss career opportunities in financial services. The video series is geared towards students at the FARE-member HBCUs, candidates looking to join financial services firms, and diverse financial professionals across the financial services industry.

Maria Diaz, Manager, Talent Acquisition and Programs, participated in a career advice panel focused on sharing guidance and tips on how to be a successful job candidate.

Franklin Templeton is one of the seven financial firms in the FARE Coalition and is partnering with HBCUs aligned to FARE. Members of the alliance seek to build sustainable economic wealth in diverse communities and increase the number of Black financial professionals through expanded research, increased training and mentorship opportunities. The alliance provides Black college students with direct access to executive mentors at member firms while creating a new talent pathway for students at member HBCUs and leading financial services firms.
