Deal update:  Key points of note

·
The regulatory review process has begun with federal regulatory filings, meetings with the U.S. Department of Justice, and meetings with state and federal elected officials. We still expect the regulatory review process will go through second half 2016.

·
There are two upcoming public Congressional hearings about the deal. Joe Swedish, President and CEO of Anthem, will testify at the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on September 22 and at the U.S. House Judiciary Committee hearing on September 29.

·
Anthem and Cigna teams are in the very early stages of integration planning. It is imperative that we continue to operate independently and make clear in our communications to stakeholders that we remain a standalone company until closing.

Updated information about the deal is available on www.betterhealthcaretogether.com and Cigna leadership will be updating teams at regularly scheduled Town Halls and Manager Briefings.
