Item 7.01         Regulation FD Disclosure.

On September 28, 2006, Alpharma Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that it will hold a conference call regarding Phase II results related to the Company's abuse deterrent, extended-release opioid at 8:30 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time on Friday, September 29, 2006. Information to be discussed in the teleconference will be available on the Company's website prior to the call. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
