Item 8.01 Other Events.

Ambassador James R. Jones has advised that he will not stand for re-election to the Kansas City Southern ("KCS") Board of Directors at its 2010 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. His decision was voluntary and not the result of disagreements with KCS. Ambassador Jones indicated that he has less time available to devote to outside Board matters because of other new business ventures. His term of office will expire at the next KCS Annual Meeting of Stockholders, scheduled for May 6, 2010.
