Item 8.01 Other Events.

On October 1, 2007, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, a Delaware corporation (the "Company"), along with Corporacion de Occidente SA de CV ("Occidente"), issued a press release announcing the formation of a 50-50 joint venture company in Mexico for the marketing, sales and distribution of the Cooper and Pneustone brands, as well as all other associate brand tires marketed by the two companies.

The Company also announced the finalization of a production arrangement with Occidente for the production of certain radial passenger tires in Occidente’s Guadalajara, Mexico facility. These tires will be for sale in the North American market as well as in Mexico.
