On April 2, 2012, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (“The Hartford”) issued a press release announcing it had commenced a consent solicitation from holders of its 6.1% senior notes due 2041 to terminate the replacement capital covenant entered into by The Hartford dated as of October 17, 2008.
