DEPARTURE OF DIRECTORS OR PRINCIPAL OFFICERS; ELECTION OF DIRECTORS; APPOINTMENT OF PRINCIPAL OFFICERS

On Tuesday, May 26, 2009, Simmons First National Corporation Board of Directors approved the election of Eugene Hunt as a director of the Company.  Committee appointments for Mr. Hunt have not been determined at this time.

Mr. Hunt, founder and owner of Hunt Law Firm, has been in private practice of law for 37 years and has served as an Arkansas Court of Appeals Judge and Arkansas Supreme Court Special Justice.  He is a member of the Jefferson County Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
