Item 8.01 Other Events.
On January 22, 2007, Career Education Corporation (the “Registrant”) issued a press release to report the decision by the United States Department of Education to lift restrictions on the Registrant’s ability to acquire domestic schools and open additional domestic campuses. A copy of the Registrant’s release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1, and the information contained therein is incorporated herein by reference.
