New Climate Tech Platform Helps Startups Get Vital Funding

By: Get News
Climate Tech Network is the first and only global platform dedicated to helping climate tech startups get from concept to investment-ready, making it a game-changer for 2023.

Climate Tech Network, a new climate tech platform, is out to make global headway by supporting startups to obtain vital funding. By bringing entrepreneurs and investors together in one place, the platform aims to accelerate innovation and mitigate the effects of climate change.

Last year, 25% of venture capitalist funding wentto climate technology. And 2023 looks like it will tell a similar story. The primary focus is on technology with the most significant potential to cut emissions.

In the United Kingdom alone, climate tech startups increased by about 50 percent in 2022 compared to 2021. Generally, the startups have collected a massive $7.5B, which is about twice 2021's $4B. However, concerns abound with scaling to prevent more disasters.

Based on the United Nations’ Environment Programme Gap report, progress since COP 26 has been disappointing, and things are expected to change after COP27.

The report laments that only 0.5bn tonnes has been shaved off last year’s 17bn - to 20bn-tonne gap between where the annual rate of carbon dioxide emissions would need to be in 2030 in order to limit warming to 1.5°C and slow global warming.

According to Mike Burton, who recently joined as Chief Communications Officer at Climate Tech Network, multinational organizations are pinning climate technology initiatives and climate change mitigation efforts on top of their agenda. For example, many companies are laser-focused on improving indoor air quality (IAQ) and energy efficiency, among other things, to make their establishments more sustainable.

Other climate startups pushing for green technologies, such as carbon capture and storage, are going a long way toward solving the global climate crisis. More of them are getting all the help they need to accomplish an arduous task.

Reports have shown more work is required to scale down global emissions in the timescales needed. Because of this dire need, climate investment in startups leading the charge to address the climate crisis has seen massive growth recently, with about 44,000 firms now operating in the sector.

Climate Tech Network launches in the first quarter of 2023, with registration free of charge. Whether climate founders are looking for investors to help get their climate startup off the ground or in search of a company to finance, Climate Tech Network serves as the ultimate place for them to network.

In addition to helping startups, the platform will be home to a climate-focused community hub where people can network, get support, and learn from each other.

Paul Purseglove, founder and CEO, says, “Our focus is showcasing and supporting the innovators and entrepreneurs who are developing solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change. Our platform helps provide the social proof and exposure they need to get investment and get their solutions to market as quickly as possible.”

Everyone can get exclusive early access to Climate Tech Network's beta launch by checking out the site and joining the waitlist, and referring colleagues or friends.
