The recent announcement details what clients can expect from Michael’s acclaimed training program. The course can be delivered in-person or online, offering subscribers a video and image-enhanced learning environment in which to acquire proven de-escalation techniques from an industry veteran.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been over 300 mass shootings this year alone in the US. No week has passed without a major incident involving four or more fatalities and a lone, armed assailant. A.L.I.V.E stands for Assess, Leave, Impede, Violence, and Expose, with the course aiming to empower everyone to know how to respond to and survive an unexpected and deadly attack.

All participants in the A.L.I.V.E program can expect to meet a range of survival objectives. These include understanding the causes of shooter incidents and the mental processes of an assailant before and during an incident. Enrollees also receive training on spotting red flags and behaviors that may suggest an incident is about to occur, how to develop a survival mindset and improve situational awareness, and how to follow the program’s Active Shooter Survival Plan.

Subscribers are given expert coaching on evaluating an active shooter situation quickly and efficiently and provided with advice to improve decision-making in stressful and pressurized situations. The course also involves physical training, teaching enrollees how to dominate an attacker. In addition, the program covers strategies for coping with the chaos that comes after an active shooter event and how to train colleagues and family members in the core principles of the A.L.I.V.E method.
