Summerville Would Make History As California's First Black Man Elected to Congress in Over 20 Years
LONG BEACH, Calif. - April 5, 2022 - PRLog -- Rev. William Moses Summerville, a Southern California clergy person and community advocate, will celebrate top ballot access and officially launch his candidacy for California's 42nd Congressional seat this Saturday, April 9th, with a car caravan closing out at The Neighborhood Church located at 3435 San Anseline Avenue in Long Beach.
If elected, Summerville would make history by becoming the first Black man to be elected to Congress in California in over 20 years.
Rev. Summerville will kick off his campaign Saturday by hosting a car caravan rally where he will share his progressive vision for the district which focuses on justice and healing for the working families of Southern California hit hardest by decades of policy failures and will advocate for popular policy solutions that address our housing, health care and the climate crises.
The event will feature speakers George Moyer (Candidate for Long Beach Prosecutor), Janet Foster -(Candidate for CA Assembly 69th District), and
Martha Camacho-Rodriquez (Candidate for CA State Senate 30th District.)
Rev. Summerville has dedicated his life to the service of others and those values drive his campaign. Immediately following the caravan, Rev. Summerville will lead his supporters in a community cookout to feed the friends and neighbors of the district.
