Are Your Electricity Bills Going Up In The High Desert? Read This Report!

Option One Solar (855-502-6363), a multi-award-winning solar energy solutions and panel installation company serving the High Desert California, has released a report that helps residents avoid increasing utility costs by making the choice to convert to solar energy.

Apple Valley, United States - September 27, 2021 /PressCable/

On August 19, 2021, The California Utilities Commission approved Southern California Edison’s (SCE) request to increase rates by 7.3 percent. This equates to an 8.9 percent increase for the typical High Desert resident. Proceeds from this increase will be used to fund the company’s day-to-day operations and help replace infrastructure. Switching to solar energy sooner rather than later helps all homeowners avoid future utility increases but, according to Option One Solar’s recently released report, residents of High Desert California are in an especially beneficial position to make the most of solar powered energy.

The High Desert is known globally as one of the best places to farm solar energy because of its climate. Situated at the edge of the Mojave Desert, it has been described as one of the world’s “Last Great Places.” The sun shines almost 300 days out of the year in the High Desert, as the latest report points out, making this the ideal region for developing solar energy.

The average residential electricity rate in the High Desert region is a little over 4 percent more than the California average, and 34.5 percent more than the national average. By having solar panel systems installed in their homes, residents can save an average of $55,000 over 20 years. This means a $40,750 return on their investment.

The report also notes that residents who convert to solar energy are protected from power outages, will avoid utility rate increases, and will benefit from increased property values.

Residents who want to make the change to solar in 2021 will receive a 26 percent Federal tax credit for installations, a battery backup, and for roofing repairs that accompany their solar energy systems. The report cautions, however, that these credits are scheduled to be reduced in 2022. Those who want to optimize savings are encouraged to switch to solar energy by year end, 2021.

With the release of their report, the multi-award-winning team at Option One Solar is helping residents avoid further utility increases and save thousands in energy costs by leveraging their sunny climate and switching to solar power.
