phData, Inc. today announced the launch of Archway, an open source project under the Apache License Version 2, that automates the creation and governance of user workspaces in Cloudera CDH environments, with ease-of-use, accuracy, flexibility, and security in mind. It makes self-service data engineering a reality, with an intuitive user interface (UI) that empowers teams to create workspaces and set up access control in a matter of minutes — granting faster access to data and helping ensure that configuration issues never stand in the way of a successful project.
With Archway, users simply choose from a list of workspace types that fit the needs of their project, then input basic information and data compliance requirements. Compliance and operations teams review these workspace requests and can approve them with the click of a button. Workspace resources are then created automatically in the background, and access control is configured instantaneously.
