LOS ANGELES - Feb. 11, 2022 - PRLog -- Actor Dominic Pace has been a 20 plus year Veteran with numerous Guest Stars on National Television over the course of his career. A lifelong Star Wars fan, Pace was overjoyed when he was offered the opportunity to participate in Season 1 of the Disney Plus Hit, The Mandalorian. His Bounty Hunter Character 'Gekko' was seen in episodes 1 and 3 for only a short amount of time. With Pace's enthusiasm for the franchise, combined with a passionate fan base that clings to obscure characters, 'Gekko' has become a fan favorite ever since he came on screen in the Fall of 2019.
When the pandemic hit in early 2020, the film industry slowed to a near halt, combined with Comic Cons shutting down all throughout the world. In an effort to help Small 'Mom and Pop' comic shops, Pace created a National tour covering over 42 states. He appeared in over 60 comic book shops, and instead of asking for an appearance fee, he donated a percentage of his autograph sales to the stores.
Throughout his two-year tour, Pace was able to earn over $30,000 for Small Businesses along with over $30,000 for charitable causes. The fan base took to Pace's efforts along with his 'Gekko' character. Countless pieces of fan art began popping up from Star Wars Groups and various artists.
With the franchise having no future plans for the character in both the show and merchandise, one Lucasfilm Licensed Product took interest. Beeline Creative has been the company behind the popularity of Pop Culture Tiki Mugs called Geeki Tiki. A Mural Mug was being planned for the first season of The Mandalorian and 'Gekko' received consideration from the company to appear on the collectible.
Releasing today at Gekkotiki.com, fans will have the chance to own a limited edition of 500 mugs signed by Dominic Pace. Actor Daniel Logan who played young Boba Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, has sponsored the mug due to their friendship over the past few years.
"I'm grateful 'Gekko' is immortalized on a piece of the Legendary Merchandise that Star Wars fans around the world have embraced. Though I'm hoping there will be more of 'Gekko,' I am content in the example I have set to my sons by showing them the importance of helping others during a time of need.'
Pace has kept busy with a handful of other projects. He will be featured as Suede Wade in the upcoming sitcom for CBS starring Chi McBride titled How We Roll. He has a strong supporting role as Coach Benevidi later this year in Chang Can Dunk for Disney Plus. Dominic will also begin filming a starring role in Deceived which begins production in Miami in June.
