A summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Bucknell University, Wetzel also graduated cum laude from the Pennsylvania State University – Dickinson School of Law. During her time at Dickinson, she was an active member of the Penn State Law Review, the Appellate Moot Court Board, and the Woolsack Honor Society.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Wetzel is a dedicated member of her community in Perry County, where she resides with her husband and two daughters, and actively supports the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Liverpool, and is a Board Member of the Greenwood Wildcat Foundation.
