The Safety Management System Voluntary Program (SMSVP) is optional, and the airline’s achievement in attaining FAA acceptance, or “active conformance,” demonstrates its strong commitment to aviation safety and establishing the requisite infrastructure to meet these rigorous standards. The Reliable Airlines SMS provides guidance and procedures that cover operations, flights, testing, engineering, environmental health and safety, cargo services and airspace management. The FAA completed a review and validation of the associated manuals and processes before formal acceptance.
