Heathcote will lead across the Rock-it Cargo, SOS, and Dynamic brands, bringing the verticals of music, sports, film, and television under unified leadership. For the last two decades, Heathcote was with AEG/AEG Presents, the second largest concert promoter in the world, where he was AEG’s SVP and Managing Director for Global Partnerships. He oversaw the Global Partnerships division of AEG Presents, as well as their content division, AEG Studios, where he managed the development of all content including live streams. His impact at AEG resulted in him being named multiple times as Billboard Magazine Brand Power Player and also to Variety Magazine’s Dealmakers Impact Report. Among other successes, Heathcote helped create a groundbreaking global marketing campaign for the launch of Taylor Swift’s “The 1989 World Tour,” and American Express’ Unstaged app, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media. Prior to his time at AEG, Heathcote was a senior marketing executive of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, adidas, and Reebok. He has also served as a GCL board member for the past two and a half years and is on the board at the LMU Marketing School and the Dean’s advisory board at UCLA’s Sociology School.
“Stew is an innovator, a builder, and a big thinker. His impact on festivals like Coachella, which transformed the world of live events, will reinforce GCL’s role at the center of today’s iconic cultural experiences,” said Daniel Rosenthal, President and Chief Executive Officer of GCL. “Stew will be an important catalyst for our next phase of growth and exceptional customer service.”
“I am excited to join GCL at such a pivotal moment in sports and entertainment,” said Heathcote. “As leagues and artists look to capitalize on global demand for their product, I look forward to collaborating with the best team in the business and leveraging our collective strengths to innovate and deliver the service that has set us apart for nearly 50 years.”
Yeamans joins GCL from Fanatics, where she spent more than a decade in charge of their legal function for their e-commerce and consumer products business. Fanatics hired Yeamans as the company’s first General Counsel where she led the strategic evolution of their legal and compliance functions during a period of global growth that saw the diversification of their business. Yeamans was key in negotiating exclusive rights deals with sports leagues, clubs, and teams, and supported the creation of new verticals of business, including sports gambling and collectibles.
Yeamans shared, “I am passionate about architecting and scaling companies. In GCL, I have found a market leader with strong customer loyalty, a dynamic team, and an unparalleled global network. I cannot wait to get started.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Caren to GCL,” said Rosenthal. “In an increasingly complex legal environment, her deep experience in scaling diversified international businesses through organic growth and acquisitions will prove invaluable to our customers and our team.”
