The unrivaled experience of RH Indianapolis seamlessly integrates luxury home furnishings collections from RH Interiors, Contemporary, Modern and Outdoor with rare art, antiques and artifacts from across the globe. An elegant juxtaposition of past and present, relaxed and refined, the landmark property has been thoughtfully reimagined with great respect for its original vision as a prestigious private residence. RH Indianapolis also reflects the brand’s continued foray into hospitality with The Dining Room, a dramatic restaurant that opens – along with a Wine Bar and Terrace – onto a 35-acre private lake, lush formal gardens and vast forest landscape.

“The DeHaan Estate is one of the most magical properties in North America, and we are honored to open its gates to the public for the first time,” said RH Chairman & CEO Gary Friedman. “From the immaculately groomed grounds and tree lined driveway, to the massive stone terrace and boat dock overlooking the lake and forest, and the perfectly proportioned rooms filled with natural light from the abundance of windows, RH Indianapolis is a place to come and dream, be inspired by the architecture; get lost in the views, enjoy a meal in the grand ballroom or sip a glass of wine while strolling through the gardens.”

Guests enter the property via a dramatic drive flanked by a double linden-tree allée, which leads to the main house, whose crescent-shaped wings create an elegant forecourt. Passing through hand-forged iron doors, visitors will encounter a graceful, curved foyer – the first in a striking sequence of rooms showcasing inspiring interior vistas, Italian-travertine floors and solid walnut doors handcrafted in Paris.

The Dining Room

Commanding the grand ballroom is The Dining Room restaurant. Aglow in natural light from a wall of soaring windows and fluted pilasters, this palatial space features a 27-foot groin-vaulted ceiling, banquettes of Italian wool velvet and a stunning lighting installation by acclaimed Los Angeles-based master glass designer, Alison Berger. An evocation of rain, the piece is composed of 210 pendants, each a drop of blown glass that cascades through the space. With French doors framing mesmerizing views of the lake, guests will enjoy a thoughtfully curated menu of enduring classics featuring the freshest ingredients from select sources, simply and elegantly prepared.

The Wine Bar

In the west wing, a luminous Calacatta gold-marble Wine Bar serves exceptional Champagnes and wines from around the world for visitors to enjoy in adjacent lounge seating or while exploring the rest of the estate, including limited-production offerings from Napa Valley’s renowned small vintners.

The East & West Wings

Artistic lifestyle installations featuring RH Collections by internationally acclaimed designers are displayed throughout the east and west wings. And in the east wing, the former billiard room now houses the RH Interior Design Studio. This interactive creative space provides clients an unprecedented level of professional design services with a private presentation room, state-of-the-art technology and design libraries showcasing a vast assortment of textiles, furniture and lighting finishes.

The Lakeside Terrace

Offering serene views, The Lakeside Terrace adjoins the north side of the main house. Influenced by the great classical gardens of Europe, this immersive destination encompasses a series of intimate RH Outdoor lounge spaces defined by a layered composition of parasol trees, sculptural evergreens and French limestone fire tables. Here, the central axis that defines the estate opens to radiating steps that gently descend into the lake. The West Gardens, with their rhythmic progression of geometric topiaries and chanticleer pear trees, feature additional outdoor collections.

To view the beautifully appointed bedroom suites on the upper level, guests will ascend an elliptical floating stair of stacked St. Germain French limestone that rises nearly 30 feet to culminate in a domed ceiling.

RH Indianapolis is located at 4501 North Michigan Road. Hours of operation are 10am to 9pm Sunday through Saturday.
