Sloane & Company (“Sloane” or “the Company”), an industry leader in corporate and financial communications, today announced that TJ White has joined the Company as Managing Director and Head of Special Situations.

Throughout his career, White has advised on approximately $475 billion worth of aggregate equity value in M&A, as well as on numerous high-profile large- and mega-cap activist defense situations.

Sloane Co-CEOs Whit Clay and Darren Brandt congratulated White on his new role: “We are thrilled and proud to have TJ join the Sloane family. TJ’s reputation as a trusted advisor precedes him, and he is widely respected and admired across the industry for the dedication, determination, and top-caliber counsel he brings to his craft. His enthusiasm and range of M&A and transactions experience make him a perfect fit to elevate our Special Situations team, and we look forward to working closely with him to strategically grow our business through relationships in the advisor community. Most importantly, TJ brings a depth of character and a collaborative, team-building spirit to everything he does—giving us great confidence he will be a strong asset to the firm’s culture as we work to live out our core values to Invest in, Commit to, and Challenge one another.”

White will shepherd and refocus Sloane’s burgeoning issues and advisory practice for executives, boards, and alternative asset management clients, while also fostering new connections and opportunities that contribute to purposeful growth for the Company. His unique experience, combined with his pragmatic, results-driven approach will enable him to provide key insights around a wide range of unique challenges that companies face today.

“It’s an honor to join the Sloane team at this exciting inflection point in the world of Special Situations,” said White. “Darren and Whit have done an incredible job building out Sloane’s traditional, strategic, and financial communications capabilities and have positioned the Company for sustainable and exciting long-term growth. Exceedingly unique times—be it the current market climate, the introduction of the Universal Proxy, or uncertainty in domestic and global arenas—have increased the need for smart, fresh counsel and created an exciting opportunity to help our current and prospective clients see beyond the horizon, plan for the unexpected, and execute efficiently and effectively. By leveraging our phenomenal bench of talent and our strategic partners at SKDK and Stagwell, I am excited to continue to build out our Special Situations team to expertly handle the most critical needs of our clients better than ever.”
