Good Day LA Anchor Araksya Karapetyan Featured on Impact Podcast with John Shegerian

Araksya Karapetyan, a co-anchor for Good Day LA on FOX 11 in Los Angeles, is the featured guest this week on the Impact Podcast with John Shegerian. The show is hosted by Shegerian, Chairman/CEO of ERI, the nation’s leading fully integrated IT and electronics asset disposition provider and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company.

A staple of Los Angeles morning TV since she joined the FOX 11 team in 2012, Karapetyan was actually born in Armenia and moved to the U.S. when she was seven years old.

A devastating earthquake, a brewing conflict with Azerbaijan, and the demise of the Soviet Union all contributed to her family's decision to leave their homeland. She grew up in Palos Verdes Estates. Karapetyan worked as a general assignment reporter and fill-in host at KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregon. Prior to that, she was a reporter, anchor, and producer at KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls. Karapetyan began her television career as an intern at KABC-TV in Los Angeles and KFI 640 AM radio in Burbank. Her interest in journalism sparked when she went back for a summer visit to Armenia. She decided to spend her time there not by being a tourist, but by exploring to see what everyday life was like for the majority.

On Impact, she shared her unique career with Shegerian, and talked about her passion for giving back to the community and the work she has been doing to support the Armenian community, here and abroad.

“Being on the Impact Podcast was truly one of the best conversations I have had,” said Karapetyan. “Talking to John Shegerian felt like I was catching up with an old friend. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my story and discuss timely topics and insights with John! I believe connecting with people who have a positive energy is vital in making an impact in the world around us!”

“It was inspiring to have Araksya on the show to share her story and talk about all her impactful work as both a journalist and a concerned global citizen,” said Shegerian. “She’s obviously a great storyteller and conversationalist too, and I know our audience will enjoy and learn much from our conversation.”

Every week, guests are invited as thought leaders to share with listeners first-hand accounts of how they are able to make the world a better place on a daily basis.

Recent guests have included leaders from Verizon, Best Buy, General Motors, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, JetBlue, Comerica Bank, Goodyear Tire, Virgin, Dell, GE, IBM, Ben & Jerry’s, Timberland, The Hershey Company, Nestle Waters, Intel, New York City, Beyond Meat, Lipton Tea, Patron Tequila, Dell, Panasonic, Molson Coors, Seventh Generation, the US Tennis Association, Waste Management, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, and a number of fascinating thought leaders and game-changers, including Martin Luther King III; real estate powerhouse and television personality Ryan Serhant; writer/comedian/author Jeannie Gaffigan; softball legend and ESPN baseball anchor Jessica Mendoza; PTSD treatment pioneer, Dr. Rick Doblin; ESPN radio personalities Sarah Spain and Israel Gutierrez; ultra-endurance athlete Rich Roll; the late, legendary actor Ed Asner; and hundreds more.
