Toronto, Ontario, December 1, 2004 CGI Group Inc. (CGI) (TSX: GIB.SV.A; NYSE: GIB) today announced the signing of a two-year, binding memorandum of understanding with National Life, a member of the Industrial Alliance Group of Companies. Starting January 1, 2005, CGI will participate in the management of life insurance policy administration and illustration applications as well as corporate systems for National Life. As part of this contract, 42 Toronto-based information technology professionals from National Life will be joining CGI.
Douglas McCuaig, senior vice-president & general manager, Greater Toronto Area & Atlantic Canada, CGI added: We are very pleased to welcome our new professionals to the team as they add tremendous breath and depth of experience to our insurance practice. They will now be part of a growing team as CGI continues to win new business in the insurance sector as we have demonstrated this year with three contract wins in the Greater Toronto Area.
